Apple launches a 24-hour music video channel, Apple Music TV

Apple has announced the launch of Apple Music TV, a 24-hour live stream of popular music videos. Apple Music TV is currently available only to users in the US, and it can be accessed through the Apple Music and Apple TV apps.

Apple launched the new service with a countdown of the top 100 most streamed songs in the U.S. on Apple Music. It will also show video premieres every Friday at 12 pm ET. The exclusive video premiere will start with Joji’s 777 and Saint Jhn’s Gorgeous this Friday. In addition to streaming music videos, Apple Music TV will also show video content such as exclusive interviews and concert films that have been created on Apple Music.

This will start with the upcoming release of Bruce Springsteen’s Letter to You album on October 22. On this day, Apple Music TV will show music-video blocks of Springsteen’s most popular videos, and a special livestream fan event. It will also feature an interview with Apple Music’s radio station host, Zane Lowe. Apple plans to bring more of its Apple Music original content on Apple Music TV, Variety reported. Apple Music is one of the leading music streaming platforms globally, and with Apple Music TV, its original content has a bigger platform now.

It’s an interesting move from Apple considering how YouTube dominates the music video scene. YouTube is the biggest and most popular platform when it comes to music videos. We’ll have to wait and see if Apple Music TV manages to shakes YouTube’s dominance.
