Apple on Monday announced the next iterations of its software products including iOS 14, iPadOS 14, watchOS 7 and macOS Big Sur. In addition to all these the company also annouced updates to its tvOS.
The company announced the launch of tvOS 14 during the keynote of its annual WorldWide Developers Conference. One of the biggest feature coming to Apple TVs is the availability of security camera footage on users' TV screen.
The company says that the Apple TV users can now access HomeKit-enabled video cameras and accessories by using Siri or Control Center, and receive doorbell notifications on the big screen with live feeds showing who is there.
Additionally, tvOS 14 comes with face recognition technology for cameras and an adaptive lightning feature for smart lights installed in users’ homes.
Apart from the smart home features, the tvOS 14 has got some gaming focussed updates. Apple says that the tvOS 14 expands multi-user capabilities to include Apple Arcade and other games, so that everyone in the house can instantly resume their favorite games exactly where they left off. “Through Control Center, players can easily switch between users, their game progress, Game Center achievements, leaderboards, and friends,” Apple wrote in a blog post.

The tvOS 14 brings the support for XBox and XBox adaptive controller. The newly launched OS comes with a picture-in-picture mode and full 4K experience. Lastly, Apple in its keynote announced Sony Bravia TVs will get tvOS support in summer this year.
