LG adds support for NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 GPU to its 8K OLED TVs

NVIDIA launched its GeForce RTX 30 GPU on Tuesday. Shortly after, LG announced that it was bringing support for NVIDIA’s newly launched GPU series to its 8K OLED TVs.

With the GeForce RTX 30 series support, LG’s 8K OLED TVs will be able to deliver 8K content at 60 frames per second and handle staggering 48Gbps speeds. Under the hood, the Korean electronics giant’s 8K OLED TV is powered by the company’s α (Alpha) 9 Gen 3 AI processor that is capable of delivering 8K full-bandwidth support with over 33 million self-lit pixels.

Apart from improving the viewing experience, LG’s 8K OLED TVs also support Dolby Atmos and LG’s deep learning-based AI Acoustic Tuning, which the company says measures the acoustic environment and adjusts the sound for greater accuracy. These TVs also support BT Surround, which allows two LG Bluetooth speakers to be connected simultaneously, up-mixing 2.0 channel sound to virtual 4.0 surround sound for more immersion in favourite games.

In addition to that, these 8K OLED TVs come with LG ThinQ capability built-in, which in turn enables users to use voice commands to control the TV when reaching out to the remote isn’t an option.

Additionally, LG’s OLED TVs feature support for the latest HDMI specifications such as Variable Refresh Rate (VRR), ultra-fast response rate and Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM).
