E3 2021: Resident Evil Village is getting some new DLC on popular demand
Resident Evil Village is getting some downloadable content (DLC) soon, which is currently in the works.
Resident Evil Village will be getting some downloadable content (DLC) soon, as Capcom has announced. The DLC is currently in the works and has been created on popular demand. Announced during the E3 2021 Showcase, a message during the livestream has confirmed that the DLC has “entered production by popular demand”.
Capcom has announced no other details beyond this as yet but there are implications that this DLC might feature more content involving Resident Evil Village's most popular character - Lady Dimitrescu. It is also possible that this new DLC might see a return of a fan-favourite, Ada Wong, who was supposed to feature in Resident Evil Village. Wong's character was revealed via early concept art that can be unlocked in the game.
However, while this bit of news is exciting for the Resident Evil Village fans, it might take a while before this additional DLC is released. There seem to be no plans on the cards yet and no announcements have been made about its release, whereas Resident Evil 7 already has a season pass planned for the launch, as The Verge points out.
It was also confirmed at the E3 2021 Showcase that online multiplayer Resident Evil RE:Verse will be releasing next month and will be free for all players who have purchases Resident Evil Village.
Just ahead of the Capcom E3 2021 Showcase, the publisher has announced that they would be focusing on updates for the Resident Evil Village, Monster Hunter Rise, Monster Hunter Stories 2, and The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles. And that's exactly what they have done so far. Capcom also rolled out an emotionally charged story trailer for Monster Hunter Stories 2 and has also confirmed that the game will be getting a free trial demo on June 25. Also, players will be able to carry their save progress over to the full game when it launches on July 9.
E3 2021 saw a host of big announcements including details about Microsoft's much-awaited Halo Infinite, the new Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora game from Ubisoft, Battlefield 2042, etc. You can check out more details about announcements made at E3 2021 here, here, and here.
