Redmi K50i has long been rumoured to come to India and a new leak reiterates that once more. The Redmi K50i series is said to mark the return of the Redmi K series to India after a long absence. Xiaomi is expected to use the Redmi Note 11T Pro models from China as the underlying phone model, which is not a bad deal considering the specs are among the more powerful Android smartphones in the market.

The Redmi K50i specs have been outed by a report from 91Mobiles, suggesting that the smartphone is largely based on the Redmi Note 11T Pro. That is not a bad deal, considering that you are getting the powerful MediaTek Dimensity 8100 chip at the helm. We had recently seen the Dimensity 8100 in action on the Realme GT 3 Neo as well as the OnePlus 10R. Hence, you can make a wild guess as to what kind of price will this Redmi smartphone command in India.

Redmi K50i launching in India soon

While the launch date is yet to be revealed, it is said that the specs of the phone will remain identical to the Redmi Note variant from China. That means the phone will have the same Dimensity 8100 chip at the helm, guaranteeing the same kind of performance as the Snapdragon 888 phones. The phone will also bring support 67W fast wired charging for its 5080mAh battery. The display will be a 6.6-inch FHD+ IPS LCD unit with a variable refresh rate of 144Hz, promising 650 nits of brightness.

The Indian unit will be available in two variants – a base variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage, whereas the top-end variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. Concerning the cameras, the phone is also expected to have a triple camera setup, consisting of a 64MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 2MP macro camera.

The front camera will have a 16MP sensor. The phone will also get features such as a dual speaker setup and a headphone jack. The phone will boot MIUI 13 out f the box, although it remains to be seen what Android version it ships with.
