Huawei P50, P50 Pro smartphones are powered by different chipsets - Kirin 9000 and Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G.

At a special event today, Huawei launched the next-generation of its P-series series smartphones, the P50 and P50 Pro smartphones in China. These newly launched smartphones come with a new and unique pill-shaped camera design and they run on the company’s own HarmonyOS 2 mobile operating system. Another interesting thing about the Huawei P50 smartphones is that they are powered by both -- company’s Kirin 9000 chipset (P50) and the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G chipset (P50 Pro).

Huawei P50, P50 Pro price and availability

The Huawei P50 Pro is available in Cocoa Gold, Charm Pink, Dynamic Sky Blue, Golden Black and Pearl White colour variants. The Snapdragon 888 variants will cost CNY 5,988 ( 68,800 approx) for the 8GB+128GB variant, CNY 6,488 ( 74,500 approx.) for the 8GB+256GB variant and CNY 7,488 ( 86,000 approx.) for the 8GB + 512GB storage variant. It will go on sale starting August 8.

The Huawei P50 Pro will also be available in Kirin 9000 SoC and 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage space. While one variant costs CNY 7,988 ( 91,800 approx.), the other model is priced at CNY 8,488 ( 97,500 approx.). It will go on sale in September this year.

The Huawei P50, on the other hand, will be available in Cocoa Gold, Charm Pink, Golden Black and Pearl White colour variants in September this year at a price of CNY 4,488 ( 51,600 approx.) for the 8GB+128GB variant and CNY 4,988 ( 57,300 approx.) for the 8GB+256GB variant.

Huawei P50 Pro specs

The Huawei P50 Pro features a 6.6-inch full-HD+ OLED curved display with up to 120Hz screen refresh rate and a resolution of 1228x2700 pixels. It is powered by Huawei’s HiSilicon Kirin 9000 and Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC that is coupled with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage space. It has a quad-camera setup at the back consisting of a 50MP primary colour camera, a 40MP monochrome lens, a 13MP wide-angle lens and a 64MP telephoto camera. On the front, it has a 13MP selfie camera. The Huawei P50 Pro runs on Harmony OS 2 and it is backed by a 4,360mAh battery with 66W Wired Super Fast Charging support and 50W Wireless Super Fast Charging support.

The Huawei P50 features a smaller 6.5-inch full-HD+ OLED display with a resolution of 1224x2700 pixels with a screen refresh rate of up to 90Hz refresh rate. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC that is coupled with 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage space. It runs on HarmonyOS 2 and it features a triple rear camera setup consisting of a 50MP primary camera, a 13MP secondary sensor and a 12MP telephoto lens. On the front, it has a 13MP selfie camera. It is backed by a 4,100mAh battery with support for 66W Wired Super Fast Charging technology.
