LG is rolling out the Android 11 update to Velvet 5G UW users in the US. The company had rolled out the software update for the Velvet 5G to users in South Korea in January this year.

The latest update brings the top features of Android 11. For instance, users will see notification bubbles for messaging apps, improved camera experience, and other UI changes. Velvet 5G UW users can check the availability of the new update through Settings > About Phone > Software updates.

According to droid-life, the Android 11 update could be the last big update for Velvet users for some time. LG, earlier this week, announced shutting down its mobile phone business. The move had raised concerns over the software updates and other support facilities for the existing LG users.

LG later said that it would provide OS updates for at least three years to select handsets released in 2019 and later. The so-called three-year pledge is applicable on phones such as G Series, V series, Velvet, and Wing. Select 2020 models such as LG Stylo and K smartphone series will receive at least two OS updates.

That said, LG Velvet is part of 13 handsets that will get the Android 11 update. These handsets are LG Wing, LG Velvet, LG Velvet LTE, LG V50S, LG V50, LG G8, LG Q31, LG Q51, LG Q52, LG Q61, LG Q70, LG Q92, and LG Q9.

LG Velvet is currently available in India online for 31,990. The handset comes with a 3.8-inch P-OLED display with full HD+ resolution. The India variant runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor. It packs a 4,300mAh battery. The handset also has a triple-rear camera setup that consists of a 48-megapixel, 8-megapixel, and 5-megapixel sensors.
