Oppo has launched the Oppo A16s, a slightly modified variant of the company's Oppo A16 smartphone launched last month in the Netherlands as a midrange smartphone. The device packs in a MediaTek Helio G35 chipset and triple rear cameras and is powered by a 5000mAh battery. The smartphone, which supports Wi-Fi and LTE connectivity, runs the company's ColorOS 11.1 based on Android 11.

While the Oppo A16s shares most of its specifications with the Oppo A16 that was launched last month, the device comes with one feature that isn't available on its counterpart, Near-Field Communication or NFC. The feature should allow users to take advantage of tap-to-pay features such as those available on Google Pay.

Oppo A16s price and availability

The Oppo A16s is currently being sold in the Netherlands in two colour variants – Pearl Blue and Crystal Black. The phone is sold in a single 4GB/64GB RAM and storage variant and is priced at €149, or approximately ₹13,000. There is currently no word on whether the smartphone will launch in India.

Oppo A16s hardware specifications

The recently launched Oppo A16s comes with a MediaTek Helio chipset that is powered by a 5000mAh battery. It is available in only one 4GB RAM variant that comes with 64Gb of internal storage. The smartphone allows users to expand the storage capacity up to 256 GB. On the display front, the Oppo A16s comes with a 6.52-inch HD+ display that has a 20:9 aspect ratio. The device has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and comes with an 8MP selfie shooter. On the rear camera setup is a 13MP primary sensor, plus a 2MP macro camera and a 2MP depth sensor. The device runs on Android 11 and comes with Oppo's latest ColorOS 11.1 skin on top.
