Xiaomi Mi Mix confirmed to launch on March 29

Xiaomi Mi Mix is rumoured to launch as the company's first foldable phone.

Xiaomi earlier this week announced the launch date for the Mi 11 Pro and Mi 11 Ultra smartphones. Another smartphone that will debut on the same day is Mi Mix. The event is scheduled for March 29 in China but there will be a live event for the global markets.

The launch of Mi Mix was announced on Weibo with the tagline “MIX COMING BACK.” This would be the fifth Mi Mix smartphone from Xiaomi. There isn't much known about the phone, and the company hasn't revealed anything either. The upcoming Mi Mix is also rumoured to launch as Xiaomi's first foldable phone. Mi Mix has been Xiaomi's test bed for concept smartphones so it won't be entirely surprising if it turns out to be a foldable device.

We have seen interesting designs in the past Mi Mix models. In the original Mi Mix and Mi Mix 2, the company placed the selfie camera in the lower right corner of the screen. Whereas in Mi Mix 3, the selfie cameras were hidden behind the slider screen. On the Mi Mix Alpha concept, the selfie camera wasn't there at all.

Based on leaks and rumours, Mi Mix is said to feature a 7-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The smartphone could be powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor paired with a 5,000mAh battery. It is also rumoured to feature a triple camera setup with a 108-megapixel primary sensor. Mi Mix is also expected to run MIUI 12 out-of-the-box.
