Xiaomi to launch three smartphones with Snapdragon 888 in 2021
The Mi 11 is Xiaomi's first smartphone launched this year that is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC.
Xiaomi, earlier this month, launched the Mi 11 smartphone globally. The Mi 11 became the company's first flagship smartphone to launch with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 888 chipset. Now, a new report suggests that the company is planning to launch three more flagship smartphones that will be powered by the Snapdragon 888 chipset.
A tipster who goes by the name Digital Chat Station on Weibo (via GizChina) said that the company will be launching three flagship smartphones with Snapdragon 888 system-on-chip this year. These smartphones come with model numbers M2102K1AC, M2102K1C, and M2011J18C. The tipster also said that all of these smartphones will come with a new design and that they will be extremely expensive.
While the tipster didn't share which smartphones these three model numbers could be associated with, it is not hard to hard to guess that one of them is likely to be the Xiaomi Redmi K40, which has been in the news for the past couple of weeks and is already tipped to come with the Snapdragon 888 SoC.
The other model number is likely to be associated with the Mi Ultra smartphone that is also tipped to run on the Snapdragon 888 SoC. It was recently spotted in a video shared by a Filipino YouTuber, which revealed that the phone could come with a gigantic rear camera setup that would cover the top half of the phone's back. You can check all the details here.
The report says that the third model number could be the Xiaomi Mi Mix 4. However, it seems difficult that the phone would get certified so soon. That said, Xiaomi hasn't commented on the matter yet and so it is advisable to take these reports with a pinch of salt.
