Apple introduced Swift Playground for young developers
Emphasising that software programming should be taught at schools, Apple CEO introduced Swift Playground for young developers.

The preview website to Apple WWDC 2016 was in the code format and by the end of the keynote, it all made sense -- CEO Tim Cook was recruiting developers this year.

Emphasising that software programming should be taught at schools, Cook introduced Apple's latest app for iPad -- Swift Playground -- targeted at budding developers to learn the company's programming language that he considers to be easy enough to be their first.

The app opens up into a screen with challenges and lessons. Players can then preview them before launching and being run through a shot tutorial -- lesson -- before being chucked into a challenge that teaches how to use code initially with buttons and eventually with new keyboard designed for the task.

It runs the player through all the concepts they would need while coding and makes it as simple as playing a puzzle game. The code written can be run on full screen, utilising the hardware on the iPad like the accelerometer and touch screen.

By introducing a free and easy way for youngsters to pick up their coding language, Apple is strengthening the flow of innovation and new apps to its App Store in the future.
