Austrian tech company Cyberith has previously tested out its Virtualizer treadmill setup with games like 'Grand Theft Auto IV' and 'Arma III.'
Now it's putting the motion-tracking system through its paces with an adapted version of 2011's expansive role-playing adventure 'The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.'
Testers must climb into a harness that allows them to maintain forward momentum when running while monitoring their waist position, so it knows whether they are standing or crouching.
The Oculus Rift headset is already well known for providing a way to immerse players within a game environment and has also found an application as a visualization aid at architectural firms and motor vehicle companies.
Cyberith's Virtualizer is being developed with a 2014 release date in mind, and an 'affordable' target price; a similar device, the $499 Virtuix Omni, is expected to start shipping in June and has just released a video featuring 2012 hit 'Far Cry 3.'
