Passengers travelling via Mumbai airport now have help at hand. Providing details of flight status, useful numbers at the airport, local transportation options and even info on the best restaurants to eat at Chatrapati Shivaji International Airport (CSIA) while on the move is the Moveo Mobile Airport Portal (mMAP) app. This app has been created in collaboration with Mumbai International Airport Pvt Ltd (MIAL), and was launched in tandem with the new CSIA website re-launch.

The brief given was concise — to add to passenger experiences upon touchdown by offering an interactive mobile access point for delivering information to travellers. "We translated this into delivering passenger information — flight details, airport info, embassy and airline details, directory of retailers and feedback," says Sankalp Saxena, CEO, Moveo Systems.

The strong "experience design" in-house team took the concept from paper to pilot in under two weeks, and the app was released in a phased manner across various device/platforms.

The Moveo mMAP application empowers passengers to get important information about Mumbai Airport quickly and easily from their mobile devices. One can find out about flight status, locate an ATM, review transportation options to/from the airport or find a great place to get a bite before a flight.

In addition, the application provides a comprehensive list of useful phone numbers for the airport, airlines and embassies. Lastly, passengers can also submit feedback on their airport experience via the mobile app.

The application is currently supported by 35 Blackberry devices, the iPhone/iPad, and many Android devices. With a data connection on their device, users can access real-time flight info and track outbound and inbound flights.
