Microsoft has been accused of forcing the Windows 10 update upon its Windows 7 and Windows 8 users. It eventually reached a point where the update was forcefully downloaded onto the user's system. When found guilty, Microsoft chose to pay a $10,000 settlement to a travel agent named Teri Goldstein. Her device was reportedly upgraded without her permission.

"I had never heard of Windows 10," Goldstein told The Seattle Times. And one fine day, Windows 10 just appeared on her computer and made it crash repeatedly, affecting her business. Goldstein said that her computer eventually became unusuable for several days at a stretch. When she tried reaching out to Microsoft for support, she received no assistance and thus, she decided to file a lawsuit against the company.
