Chinese handset-maker Gionee on Tuesday launched a new series of flagship devices at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

The devices that are going to lead Gionee's products lineup at least in the first half of 2017, as per company claims, carries Gionee's DNA of a long-life battery and the company's focus on enhanced photo quality for selfies.

"We have noticed that more and more people are regarding selfies as an expression of themselves and they tend to share their photos through various social channels whenever and wherever they are. As a consumer-oriented smartphone manufacturer, we hope to set up the evolution of the selfie experience and provide the best portfolio at the best price," William Lu, President of Gionee, said.

Called the A1 and A1Plus, the phones will be available for 349 € Euro and 499 € Euro respectively starting March 2017 and April 2017.

In terms of specifications, the A1 Plus that will be available in Gray, Mocha Gold colours, sports a 6.0-inch FHD display and MediaTek Helio P25 proessor along with a 4GB RAM unit. In terms of storage, the A1 Plus will come with 64GB internal storage that can be expanded upto 256GB. The A1 Plus comes with a 20-megapixel selfie camera with selfie flash and a dual rear camera setup with 13-megapixel + 5-megapixels. The camera setup also has a flash alongside. The A1 Plus draws power from a 4,550mAh battery pack. The phone will run Android 7.0 Nougat.

On the other hand, the A1, which will come in Gray, Black and Gold colour options, sports a 5.5-inch FHD AMOLED display and a MediaTek Helio X10 processor with a 4GB RAM unit. The phone, which will run Android Nougat 7.0, will come with 64GB internal storage expandable upto 256GB via a microSD slot. In terms of optics, the A1 sports a 16-megapixel selfie camera with selfie flash. The rear camera has 13-megapixels alongside a flash unit. The A1 will draw power from a 4,010 mAh battery pack.

Both the A1 and A1 Plus will have dual-SIM, WiFi, Bluetooth and DLNA capabilities.
