A new website that records every tweet published and is subsequently deleted by politicians on social blogging site Twitter, was launched recently.

According to the Los Angeles Times, the new site, called Politwoops, launched by Sunlight Foundation, already has over 300 pages of collected tweets from members of U.S. Congress, the president and other presidential hopefuls.

Politwoops records the deleted tweet and the time it was tweeted. The site also includes pages for each politician and allows users to sort tweets by political parties.

'From minor typos to major gaffes, Politwoops is now there to offer a searchable window into what they hoped you didn''t see,' states a Politwoops press release.

The Sunlight Foundation based their version of Politwoops of the original site, which is run in The Netherlands by an organisation called the Open State Foundation to track its own politicians.

The site has already stored 3,000 tweets and is adding more to the collection.
