Four turbochargers are thrown in to add that extra spice. And given the legendary figure of 1001 hp, a four wheel drive is only obvious. Not less than ten radiators are used to keep all the mechanical parts cool.
To make the Veyron as lightweight as possible, it's made up of lightweight alloys and carbon fibre.

Build
All the bolts are titanium and so are the front grilles over the air vents. The exhaust is made of magnesium, as are the wheels. The result is a supercar that barely weighs 1,888 kg. The convertible grand sport version weighs 1,990 kg. It is significantly heavier than the Enzo, the Zonda and even the Koenigsegg and yet, the Veyron is the fastest.
Standing at 4.46 metres from bonnet to boot, it's just a shade longer than the Honda City.
I thought my experience with superbikes would keep me from being surprised regarding monstrous acceleration. The Veyron does 0-100 kph in 2.5 seconds — as quick as an F1 car, only with air conditioning! At 100 kph, the Veyron is only warming up. With the throttle pinned, it will go on to accelerate to 300 in 16.7 seconds! Forty seconds more, and it's doing 400 kph.
In an accelerating Veyron, the driver is in the lovechild of a Concorde and a Bullet train. Even the sound of the car is not exactly supercar-esque. Prod the throttle and there's a massive sucking sound, courtesy the intakes. Once the turbos spool up, it's like you're standing in front of a jet engine on full blast.
The Veyron inspires confidence. It doesn't feel nervous, twitchy or tentative. It isn't pinsharp either, and yet, it's lithe and steady.

Drive
The bumps felt through the steering wheel don't throw the car off course. The double wishbone suspension with active hydraulic adjustment hunker down in handling mode. However, Veyron owners in India will need to be ready to gnash their teeth as they drive over our crater-ridden roads.
The Veyron is epic, mega and an utter extravagance. If dreams, imagination, money, technology, engineering and guts came together in one orgy, the Veyron would be the thing that would pop out nine months later.
