South Korean giant Samsung on Thursday launched its Galaxy Tab 3 range in India — two 3G-enabled and one Wi-Fi-only variants. The tablets include Galaxy Tab 3 seven-inch and Galaxy Tab 3 eight-inch.
The Galaxy Tab 3 seven-inch will be up for grabs for ₹ 17,745 (3G), while Tab 3 eight-inch will be available for ₹ 21,945 (Wi-Fi) and ₹ 25,725 (3G).
The new Tab 3s have been seemingly rolled out to take on the Apple iPad, which has a higher price tag. The move is also expected to challenge Microsoft, which is building a customer base for its Windows 8 Surface.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 seven-inch has a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 1024x600p resolution display, Android 4.1, 8GB of internal storage and 1GB of RAM. The tablet also comes with a 3MP rear camera and 1.3MP front camera.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 eight-inch, meanwhile, comes with a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, Android 4.2, and 1280x800p resolution display. It packs a 5MP rear camera and a 1.3MP front camera.
The Tab 3 series comes with an introductory offer of 2GB/month data free for two months from Vodafone. The offer is valid only on the postpaid platform.
The devices also come preloaded with a bouquet of services such as 'My Education', 'My offers', 'My Games', 'My Music' and 'My Movies'. While 'My Education' gives consumers access to 2,000 e-books and 1,000 learning videos, 'My Offers' makes available best local offers from 350+ brands and 25,000+ merchants in the country.
With the launch of the Tab 3 series, Samsung now has a range of five Tablets, available between ₹ 17, 745 and ₹ 38, 840.
