Sony's update to its PRS range of eReaders, the PRS-T2, might be dumping a headphone jack, but in its it place receives support for Evernote, Facebook, and Asian script.
Formally annouced on August 16, the Sony Reader PRS-T2, with its $130 price tag, is at the upper end of a price bracket that includes the Kindle Touch, Kobo Touch and Nook Simple Touch.
Like those other devices, it sports a 6-inch monochromatic E-Ink Pearl display, and the T2 weighs in at a relatively light 5.9 ounces.
Compatability with Evernote makes it easier to sync content between devices, and Facebook integration means that short passages from Reader Store-bought books can be shared with friends.
Use of the EPUB3 standard should boost the PRS line's appeal in Asian markets thanks to support for complex characters, something that the Nook, the Kobo and Apple's iBooks are already on board with.
