Twitter has officially unveiled its new Polls feature, with plans to bring it to iOS, Android and the desktop over the next few days.

The two-choice polls will remain live for 24 hours, and users can also participate in any poll; your vote is not shared publicly. (AFP)

Twitter has officially unveiled its new Polls feature, with plans to bring it to iOS, Android and the desktop over the next few days.

Anyone using the Twitter will now be able to gather public opinions via the microblogging service, on anything from election issues to what to name your dog, as Twitter suggests.

The two-choice polls will remain live for 24 hours, and users can also participate in any poll; your vote is not shared publicly.

Users will know the feature has been rolled out to their device when they see a poll icon in the compose box.
