WhatsApp-rival Hike Messenger now lets you split bills, conduct polls within groups

Hike Messenger is making the app more interesting with its latest set of features.

Hike Messenger on Thursday introduced six new features for group. The new set of features of includes voting, bill splitting, checklists and event reminders. These features will work in group with up to 1,000 members.

There will also be an inbuilt calendar exclusive for group chat that will remind about the upcoming event. The latest set of features is available for both iOS and Android users.

"Groups can use - Vote, Bill Split, Checklists, Events with Reminders and even Teen Patti - with great ease and without the cumbersome effort of using multiple apps. Our new features will make sharing much easier within the group and raise the fun and productivity quotient," Hike Messenger Chief Technology Officer Vishwanath Ramarao said.

"These are the features that our target group which is mostly teen and students are looking for. When it comes to deciding on event, movie or party they can choose voting feature, split bills among friends etc," he added.

The latest announcement comes weeks after the company announced a partnership with Airtel Payments Bank to power its Wallet. Hike last month disclosed that its Wallet saw more than 5 million transactions, a growth of 30% month-on-month.
