YU Yureka 2 with Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC launched, priced at ₹11,999

Micromax's subsidiary YU on Thursday launched a new smartphone in India. Called the Yureka 2, the smartphone is priced at ₹11,999. The YU Yureka 2 will be available exclusively via Flipkart from September 20.

The YU Yureka sports a 5.5-inch full HD display. It runs on a rather dated Android Marshmallow operating system and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor. It has 4GB of RAM and comes with 64GB of built-in storage.

The smartphone comes with a 16-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. It houses a 3,930mAh battery, which the company claims to deliver music playback of more than 24 hours. It also supports Quick Charge 3.0 for fast charging. The smartphone also has a fingerprint sensor, which is located on the rear panel.

The YU Yureka 2 is the sixth smartphone under the Yureka series. The company has so far launched the YU Yureka, Yureka Plus, Yureka Note, Yureka S and Yureka Black. The most recent in the lot is the Yureka Black, which launched earlier this year with a price tag of ₹8,999.

The Yureka 2 will be competing against a wide range of budget Android smartphones including the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 and Lenovo K8 Note. The top-end model of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 is available for ₹12,999. The smartphone features Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor, 4,000mAh battery, 4GB of RAM and 5.5-inch full HD display.

The base model of the Lenovo K8 Note is priced at ₹12,999. It features 3GB of RAM, 5.5-inch full HD display, MediaTek X23 processor, dual-rear camera and 4,000mAh battery.
