Samsung expands blood pressure, ECG tracking to Galaxy Watch 3, Active 2 in 31 more markets
Samsung on Tuesday announced rolling out vital blood pressure and electrocardiogram tracking to Galaxy Watch 3 and Galaxy Watch Active 2 users in more than 31 countries. The rollout comes after the Samsung Health Monitor app received a CE-marking in December 2020.
The markets that will receive the new health-tracking features are Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the UK. The features will also be rolled out to Chile, Indonesia, and the UAE.
“Nearly one million people have used the Samsung Health Monitor app to manage their health since its initial launch in Korea last June,” said TaeJong Jay Yang, Corporate SVP and Head of Health Team, Mobile Communications Business at Samsung Electronics. “We're committed to bringing this innovative health service to more people across the world, and the latest expansion marks a major milestone in our mission.”
Samsung Galaxy Watch 3
Samsung had launched Galaxy Watch 3 in August last year. The smartwatch comes in 41mm and 45mm models. The larger variant comes with a 1.4-inch round display and a 340mAh battery. The smaller variant features a 1.2-inch display with a 247mAh battery. Both versions feature AMOLED displays with Corning Gorilla Glass protection.
The smartwatch comes with a bunch of sensors such as atmospheric pressure sensor, GPS, light sensor, and more. It has the pressure vent and heart rate sensor on the back. It can also track sleep.
Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2
The smartwatch comes in three sizes -- 42mm, 44mm and 46mm -- and three colour variants - Silver, Pink and Black. The display comes with Corning Gorilla Glass DX+ protection.
