Microsoft Windows 11 update: Microsoft has just taken another step forward and allowed users to download and install Windows 11 on their computers using an iSO file which can be burned on a DVD or 'booted' using a thumb drive. Till now, the company had allowed users to test and try out Windows 11 on their computers through the Windows Insider program. While Windows users have been able to download and install the Windows 11 Insider Preview for a while now, the update was being delivered via the operating system’s update manager, Windows Update. Users would need to have an existing Windows 10 installation which would need to be upgraded. However, some users who wanted to install Windows 11 afresh on their computers were out of luck – until now.

The official Windows 11 release date for everyone, is scheduled for later this year. Also, some notable features from the older version of Windows, which is Windows 10, may be missing.
Updating to Windows 11 via Microsoft Insider website
Thanks to the Windows 11 Insider Preview ISOs, users will be able to download a preview of the upcoming update and install it on a new computer or format an old one and give it a fresh start - if it is compatible. This can also come in handy for users who don’t have a good internet connection and need an “offline” installation method that can be used to install Windows 11 on their computer.
If you have a valid Windows 10 licence, you should be able to download the Windows 11 update by visiting the company’s website and signing up for the Insider program. It is safer to pick the Beta channel over the Dev version if you prefer stability. You can then download the ISO file which can be used just like a Windows 10 ISO.
