Panasonic launches Toughbook FZ-55: Price, specs and availability

Panasonic India on Tuesday launched the Toughbook FZ-55 laptop in India. The company says that its newly launched laptop is aimed at professionals across the automotive industry, federal and public safety, utilities, defence and pharmaceutical.

The newly launched Panasonic Toughbook FZ-55 comes at a starting price of ₹1.49 Lakh. It will be available via Panasonic partner stores in the country soon.

As far as the features are concerned, The Panasonic Toughbook FZ-55 features a honeycomb-style magnesium casing with a carry handle. It measures 345 x 272 x 32.8mm and it weighs 2.25Kgs for the full HD TS variant, 2.13Kgs for the full HD variant and 2.08 Kgs for the HD variant.

It comes with a 14-inch full HD display with an aspect ratio of 16:9. It has a 2MP IR web camera on top with a privacy cover. It is available in two processor variants. One with the Intel coreTMi7-8665U vPro processor and the other with the Intel coreTMi5-8365U vPro processor. It runs on Windows 10 Pro.

It is available in three RAM configurations: 8GB, 16GB and 32GB that is coupled with up to 1TB of storage space. It comes with four microphones, three USB 3.1(Gen1) ports, a rugged USB (USB 2.0) port, an HDMI port, a serial port, a VGA port, a LAN port, a micro SDXC port, a DVD/BD Drive, and a Dual Path Through.

It has a Contacted SCR, a Contactless SCR and FPR for security. It also features support for New Generation Advanced Security and TOUGHBOOK Battery Smart Technology. Additionally, it has a TOUGHBOOK Universal Bays and two Expansion slots for interoperability.
