Google Pixel 5, Pixel 4a 5G launch date may have been revealed

Google recently launched the much delayed Pixel 4a smartphone. It also teased the launch of Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a 5G for this fall. Google may have accidentally revealed the launch date of its new phones.

In Google’s France website, the company mentioned the pre-order dates for the Pixel 4a, and even its 5G variant and the Pixel 5. Here, it’s mentioned that pre-orders for the Pixel 4a 5G and Pixel 5 will begin on October 8. This is expected to be the launch date for the new Pixel phones and it also coincides with when Google usually releases its flagship Pixel. Hopefully, there won’t be any delays with this launch.

In addition to the Google Pixel 4a, the Pixel 5 will also have support for 5G. The smartphones will be available at a starting price of $499 ( ₹37,400 approx). This price is most likely for the Pixel 4a 5G. The new Pixel phones will launch globally except for India. Google has confirmed that it’s not bringing the 5G phones to India. This is the second time Google is not launching its flagship Pixel in India after the Pixel 4 last year. The affordable premium Pixel 4a will launch in India in October.

The new Pixel 4a 5G and Pixel 5 are expected to run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 765G chipset. There have been multiple reports asserting the fact that Google will not use a flagship chipset for the Pixel 5. It will have premium features most likely IP68 rating for water resistance and wireless charging. It will also launch with the new Android 11 out-of-the-box.
