Google is expected to reveal Pixel 6 series smartphones consisting of the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro smartphones later this year. Reports in the past have suggested that the two phones are likely to be powered by Google Whitechapel chipset, which it is developing in collaboration with Samsung. Now, a new report sheds light on what we should expect from Google’s first mobile SoC.

According to tipster Yogesh, Google’s Whitechapel chipset will be closer to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 870 chipset in terms of performance. He also said that Google isn’t trying to match the Snapdragon 888 in terms of performance. Instead, the company is focusing on artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning in its chipset. In addition to this, the tipster said that the Whitechapel chipset will come with Mali GPU, without mentioning details about the same.

Apart from this, tipster Max Weinbach speaking at the Mobile Tech podcast (via Android Authority) revealed some of the key specifications of the Pixel 6 series smartphones. He said that while Pixel 6 will come with a Full HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate, the Pixel 6 Pro will come with a Quad HD+ display with a similar refresh rate. He also said that the Pixel 6 Pro is expected to sport a bigger 5,000mAh battery.

Separately, reports in the past have hinted towards the Pixel 6 Pro getting a 6.67-inch curved AMOLED display with an under-display fingerprint sensor. It is tipped to get a triple-rear-camera setup along with dual stereo speakers at the bottom. Pixel 6, on the other hand, is likely to get a smaller 6.5-inch display with an in-display fingerprint sensor and bottom-firing stereo speakers. Both smartphones are likely to run on the Android 13 operating system.
