Samsung Galaxy S21+ gets BIS certification

Samsung is rumoured to launch its flagship Galaxy S21 series in January. Galaxy S21 smartphones have been appearing in leaks and reports quite often, and what’s believed to be the Galaxy S21+ has now appeared on the Bureau Of Indian Standards (BIS) site.

First spotted by Root My Galaxy, a Samsung smartphone with the model number SM-G996B/DS has been spotted on BIS. This smartphone is said to be the Galaxy S21+ which would be the mid-tier flagship from Samsung. The flagship series will feature Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21 Ultra as well. Galaxy S21 was also spotted on BIS last week further adding to the speculation that the launch is very near. There’s no official word on the launch yet but we could see the new Galaxy S21 phones as early as January 14.

Galaxy S21+ is expected to feature a 6.7-inch full HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It could pack a 4,800mAh battery, and run OneUI 3.1 based on Android 11. The smartphone will most likely be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 875 processor or the Exynos 2100. It could have triple rear cameras with a 12-megapixel primary sensor, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide sensor and a 64-megapixel telephoto lens.

Galaxy S21 is said to carry most of the specs as the Galaxy S21+ but with a smaller 6.2-inch display, and a 4,000mAh battery. We could see the same cameras and software features on the Galaxy S21.

This time Samsung is going for ‘Phantom’ colour options in silver, black, violet, white pink, and gray for the Galaxy S21 series.
