Tech Wrap: Pixel 4a XL leak, MobiKwik removed from Google Play and more

There was a lot that happened in the tech world today. MobiKwik was removed from Google Play as it had the Aarogya Setu app link in it. We also got an update on what Pablo Escobar’s brother is up to now.

Then there was a leak on the Pixel 4 XL which is reportedly cancelled. Twitter also introduced the ability to schedule tweets from the web app. And lastly, Indians could soon get 11-digit mobile numbers.

Mobikwik-Google Play

Google removed MobiKwik from its Play Store temporarily as a penalty for showing the Aarogya Setu app link. Google was later told that payment apps were asked to show the contact tracing app to spread awareness.

Escobar's brother

Pixel 4a XL renders

Google was reportedly supposed to launch the Pixel 4a but it got postponed to July. Multiple reports also suggested that Google is not launching the Pixel 4 XL this time. A new leak adds to that speculation and even shows renders of what the phone could have looked like.

Twitter scheduling

Twitter’s desktop app can now be used to schedule tweets. This is the first native scheduling feature Twitter has introduced. Users can do it from the compose tweet box itself. Twitter also rolled out drafts for the web app.

11-digit mobile numbers

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has new recommendations for introducing 11-digit mobile numbers. TRAI suggests replacing 10-digit numbers with 11-digit numbers so that there’s more availability of mobile numbers up to 10 billion.
