This tete-a-tete indicates that Samsung apart from launching new products at its event today will also be announcing new initiatives in partnership with Microsoft. A partnership with Microsoft might seem a bit unconventional for Samsung but the two companies have been cosying up to each other since last year.

To give you a quick history lesson, Samsung and Microsoft first announced a partnership last year at the launch of the Galaxy Note 10 smartphone. At the time, the two companies had said that the Galaxy Note 10 smartphone would come with the Galaxy Note 10 app. In addition to that, Office apps, which includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and LinkedIn and OneDrive apps would also be pre-installed on the smartphone.

Then again earlier this year, the two companies announced that they would be partnering over a cloud-gaming service which would involve future Samsung devices featuring Microsoft’s XCloud service.

Now, with the launch of the Galaxy Note 20 series smartphones, the two companies are expected to bring this promise to fruition. Simply said, the Galaxy Note 20 could be the first smartphone to feature the game streaming service.

As per a report by German blog site WinFuture, Samsung’s Galaxy Note 20 series smartphones will be highly optimised to stream XBox games over XCloud. If this is true, Galaxy Note 20 owners should be able to stream over 90 XBox titles on their smartphones over the cloud. In addition to that, the Galaxy Note 10 successor is also expected to get better OneNote synchronisation.

Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2020 event is happening in two hours. We should have more clarity on what these companies are up to then. Till then, stay tuned!
