Google ‘Sabrina’ Android TV dongle price leaked ahead of launch

Google has long been rumoured to be working on an Amazon Fire TV stick. Codenamed Sabrina, Google’s new streaming dongle has been revealed in multiple leaks in the last few weeks. Now, we have gotten details about the price of the upcoming streaming dongle.

According to a Home Depot listing, the upcoming Sabrina Android TV streaming dongle is going to cost $49.99 ( ₹3,660 approximately). The price is much lower than the current-gen Chromecast Ultra. It is however priced about $15 above third-gen Chromecast.

9to5Google points out that Sabrina’s pricing is on par with competing Roku Streaming stick+ and Amazon Fire TV stick.

The $49.99 price is unlikely to be the final one. According to Droid-life, the phone will be priced at $59 ( ₹4,300 approximately). Another Android Police report claims the dongle is priced at $60 ( ₹4,400 approximately).

A common thing between all the listing is that the dongle will be released on September 30.

According to leaked specifications, Google’s Chromecast or Android TV stick will run on Amlogic S905X2 processor with 2GB of RAM. The streaming device will bring support for 4K streaming at 60fps. The dongle will support HDR and Dolby Vision we well. Rumours suggest it will bring support for HDMI 2.1 with automatic low-latency optimisation.

The new dongle will be bundled with remote control and a new interface. The remote control is expected to be very similar to common smart TV remotes featuring a dedicated button for launching Google Assistant and microphone.
