JioNews now available to JioFiber users through Jio set-top-box

Reliance Jio has rolled out JioNews for JioFiber users through the Jio set-top-box.

In case you did not know, JioNews is a digital news application that features news, videos, magazines, newspapers, and photo galleries. The platform features over 350 e-papers, more than 800 magazines, and trending videos and photos. The application supports more than 12 languages.

JioNews comes with various optimisations for better browsing and reading experience. For instance, users can zoom in and out. They can also switch between a full-page view and full-screen view.

It also allows users to personalise the experience under the Your Papers section. Other basic features include the ability to add a bookmark in magazines and select topics from trending topics. JioNews also supports voice search.

“The addition of JioNews App on the set-top-box further enriches JioFiber’s content offering through its Set-Top-Box (STB) which already allows JioFiber subscribers to access several popular OTT apps across entertainment, health, music, sports, education, news and other genres apart from access to Jio’s own apps like JioCinema, JioSaavn, JioTV+ etc. With JioNews, the smart news aggregator app, Jio now offers an even more comprehensive user experience,” the company said in a note.

Separately, Reliance Jio is offering 5 months of free data and calls with new JioFi connection. The company is offering as many as three JioFi plans. The base plan is available for ₹199 and comes with 1.5GB of data per day and 28 days of validity. Users can pay an additional ₹99 to get Jio Prime membership, unlimited Jio to Jio and landline calls, 1000 minutes of calls on other networks, and 100 SMSes.
