Bose Connect app reveals unreleased ‘Bose QC35 II Gaming Headset’ features
The references suggesting the arrival of a gaming headphone were there in strings of codes, found in the APK teardown.
Bose might soon be entering into the gaming accessory market. Or at least, it is thinking in that direction of the hints coming from its Bose Connect app is any indication. More specifically, the company could launch a ‘gaming' version of its already existing headphones - QC35 II. For those unaware, Bose Connect app is what is used to connect the device with the smartphone. It is also said to be one of the very few third-party apps that is deeply integrated with Google Assistant. And the hint was dropped in the codes after the app got an update to version 12.0. The references suggesting the arrival of a gaming headphone were there in strings of codes, found in the APK teardown by 9to5Google.
In the four codes mentioned below, the headphone was codenamed as ‘tribbers'.
-<string name=”tour_tibbers_title_1″>About Bluetooth connectivity</string>
-<string name=”tour_tibbers_text_1″>”When the gaming microphone is connected to the headphones, Bluetooth is disabled and the Bose Connect app can't find your headphones.”</string>
-<string name=”tour_tibbers_title_2″>Connect gaming microphone</string>
-<string name=”tour_tibbers_text_2″>Plug the microphone into the AUX port on the bottom of the left earcup, then plug the cable into your gaming system.</string>

It can be deciphered that the QC35 II ‘Gaming headphone' will feature a microphone component as well, something that is common with gaming headphones. It may also have a wired connection facility wherein one of the AUX port can be at the bottom side of an earcup.
As per the report, these codes are connected with the product tour video that was included in the Bose Connect update. The video clearly showed a QC35 II headphone with a microphone attached. And what gave away the information was another string of code in the app that mentioned tribbers as “Bose QC35 II Gaming Headset.”
It is not for user if this will be sold as a separate microphone attachment or a new headphone in itself. However, since the product is not there in the official tour video and in app's codes, the launch might be closer than we think.
