Apple’s AirPods Studio headphones may launch next month during WWDC conference
The report states that the production of AirPods Studio headphones has already started.
We have heard a lot about Apple's over the ear headphones (tipped as AirPods Studio) in the past few months. From its interchangeable components to price, the leaks and analysts have predicted it all. Now a new Digitimes report talks about its launch time frame. While previous reports suggested it would arrive sometime in H2 2020, Digitimes reports (via Macrumours) that it may drop right before the H1 ends, which means sometime next month itself.
The report states that the production of AirPods Studio headphones has already started “As Apple is likely to accelerate dropping its wired earphones, the vendor will resume normal shipments for AirPods 2 in the second half of the year and its new over-ear headphones, dubbed AirPods Studio, has also kicked off production, all securing growth momentum for rigid-flex boards suppliers for the devices, including Unitech Printed Circuit Board and Compeq Manufacturing,” said the report.
This also serves as the right time for the launch since Apple's WWDC is also on June 22. So it might be a possibility that we may see the new headphones during the keynote event. This is however, just an assumption. We will know more about it when the launch date comes closer.
Talking about AirPods Studio, a recent report mentioned that Apple could be moving the production of this device to Vietnam. This is said to be done in order to eliminate the company's dependency on China considering the US-China trade war. It was also mentioned that Apple has connected with Goertek and Luxshare manufacturers to use their factories for headphone manufacturing.
