Wordle alternatives: After playing today’s Wordle, try this ridiculous Word game called Octordle
Following the popularity of Wordle game, the Internet has been taken over by multiple Wordle alternatives, where each brings its own twist to the classic word game. We have gone over Absurdle, Nerdle, Worldle and Quordle over the last few days. It's time to meet probably one of the most difficult word puzzles to have come out, Octordle. In short, Octordle takes Quordle and doubles the difficulty. These spinoffs are plenty of fun and with their own unique themes and twists, they allow you to explore the uncharted territories in the Wordle format. Plus, as Wordle is limited to being just ‘one puzzle a day', so once you're done with today's Wordle, you can check out these other games for added fun.
Octordle: Solve 8 Puzzles at once
If Wordle makes you solve one word puzzle, then Octordle multiplies that difficulty by 8 and makes you guess eight secret words at the same time. The game was created by Kenneth Crawford after he was inspired by Dordle (where you need to guess two word puzzles simultaneously) and Quordle (where you guess 4 secret words). It is unclear if Crawford thought Quordle was too easy, but made a version of the game which is incredibly hard.
Just like Wordle, Octordle's basic gameplay is the same. You need to guess eight 5-letter words and you get a total of 13 attempts to figure out the words. You get similar green, yellow and gray highlights on guessing the right position, wrong position and wrong letter, just like Wordle. The entire idea is to simultaneously solve 8 different puzzles where each guess is applied on all of the puzzles. This instantly changes the entire strategy to attack the game. So once you're done with today's Wordle, give this monster of a Wordle alternative a try.
Additionally, besides daily Octordle, there are practice Octordles too. You can play as many games as you want to improve your skills in that mode. The game is entirely about eliminating as many letters as possible within 5 attempts and then trying to guess the words in remaining chances. If you feel like a word puzzle master, this will definitely be your biggest challenge ever. If you're interested, you can play the game using the link here. Have fun!
