Asus ROG Phone 5 will launch in India on March 10
Asus’s ROG Phone 5 is rumoured to come with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888 processor and 16GB of RAM.
Asus on Tuesday confirmed its upcoming gaming smartphone, ROG Phone 5, will launch in India on March 10. The smartphone is scheduled to officially debut on March 5.
“Join us for the virtual global unveiling of the ASUS ROG Phone 5 series, along with unparalleled gaming accessories for the ultimate gaming experience. Taking forward the legacy of the legendary ROG Phone, the new device is guaranteed to blow your mind with a stunning display, top-notch performance and audio, ultimate speed and control, and cutting-edge technology,” said Asus in its invitation for the March 10 event.
Apart from India, Asus will unveil the phone in the US, Germany, and Taiwan on the same date.
Asus ROG Phone 5
Asus ROG Phone 5 has already made appearances on several certification and benchmarking sites ahead of its launch. According to rumours, the smartphone will come with Qualcomm's latest flagship Snapdragon 888 processor. It could also come with 16GB of RAM and Android 11 out-of-the-box.
A 6,000mAh battery will power the smartphone. The battery capacity is the same as the ROG Phone 3. The next-gen ROG Phone 5 could also ship with a 65W fast charger.
In the camera department, Asus ROG Phone 5 will reportedly house three rear sensors with a 64-megapixel primary sensor. We will most likely see a punch-hole display which could be a 6.68-inch AMOLED screen. The display is also said to come with an in-display fingerprint sensor, and up to 144Hz refresh rate.
Asus ROG Phone 3
Available online for ₹47,000 approximately, the predecessor ROG Phone 3 comes with a 6.59-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel with HDR10+ support. It also comes with up to 16GB of RAM and UFS 3.1 built-in storage. It is powered by a 6,000mAh battery.
The phone features a combination of 64-megapixel Sony IMX686 sensor Quad Bayer technology and f/1.8 aperture + 13-megapixel 125-degree ultra-wide camera + 5-megapixel macro camera with f/2.0 aperture. At the front, it houses a 24-megapixel f/2.0 camera.
