iPhone 13 vs iPhone 12: After numerous rumors and leaks, the iPhone 13 is finally here. The series consists of the iPhone 13, iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13 Pro, and iPhone 13 Pro Max. The latter two come with a 120Hz refresh rate but the non-Pro models misses out on the high refresh rate. It is natural to compare the iPhone 12 with the predecessor. The iPhone 13 has a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display, which is brighter at 1200 nits peak brightness. The display is 28 percent brighter and can hit 800 nits brightness on normal usage. You get support for Dolby Vision, HDR10, and HLG.

The iPhone 12 features a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display. It has a 2532×1170-pixel resolution at 460 PPI and offers a 2000000:1 contrast ratio. Apple claims it can go up to 625 nits brightness (typical) and 1,200 nits brightness (HDR). It supports Dolby Vision, HDR10, and HLG. The iPhone 12 comes equipped with flat edges with aluminum railings on all four sides. Moreover, the display lies under the protection of Ceramic Shield that makes 4X better drop performance.

iPhone 13 vs iPhone 12: Performance

The iPhone 13 is powered by the latest A-series chip. It houses the A15 Bionic under the hood. Apple says that the competition is still playing catch up with its chipset. The A15 Bionic is a 5nm chip. It has a 6 core CPU with 2 high performance and 4 efficiency cores. Apple says it delivers 30 percent faster graphics than the leading competition and 50 percent faster overall. It is said to last 2.5 hours longer than the iPhone 12.

Coming to the iPhone 12, it is powered by the Apple A14 Bionic chipset, which is built on a 5nm process. It features 11.8 billion transistors that offer an increase of over 40% vs A13 processor. Plus, it has a 16-core NPU that is 80% faster than the previous generation. The base variant offers 64GB of internal storage. The speakers are loud. Both of these phones support 5G.

The iPhone 13 sports a larger 12MP sensor, which can gather 47 percent more light. You get larger 1.7micron pixels and  f/1.5 aperture. it also comes with sensor shift stabilisation. There is a new 12MP ultrawide camera. The iPhone 13 also has a new "cinematic mode" for video.

The iPhone 12 sports a dual rear camera setup of 12MP + 12MP. The primary lens has an f/1.6 aperture with a 26mm focal length. There is a 7 element lens that brings 27% improvement in low light performance. Furthermore, the 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens has an f/2.4 aperture with a 120-degree field of view. You get Night Mode on all cameras including the ultra-wide and selfie shooter.

Prices for the iPhone 13 in India start from 79,990 (128GB). The 256GB iPhone 13 is priced at 89,990, and the 512GB iPhone 13 is priced at 109,900.

Meanwhile, the iPhone 12 price in India has gone down to 66,990 for the base 64 gigs variant.
