Xiaomi based Black Shark recently launched its gaming smartphone, the Black Shark 4 and 4 Pro. However, Xiaomi’s own sub-brand, Redmi is also planning to enter the segment as the company’s General Manager teased the arrival of a gaming phone a couple of months ago. But unfortunately, nothing much was revealed about the device ever since. Now, a tipster on Weibo (via MyDrivers) has come forward with some more details on the mysterious gaming phone.

The smartphone is supposed to feature a flat OLED screen with a punch hole cut on top for a selfie camera. This is something similar to what we have seen in Mi 11 and Redmi K40. Also revealed is that the product will boast of Samsung’s E4 panel and the chipset powering it could be the MediaTek Dimensity 1200. On the battery front, the unannounced gaming smartphone by Redmi is said to be backed by a 5,000mAh battery, which may also support 65W fast charging. It is also said to deliver full charge within 30 minutes.

The interesting part here is that the Redmi gaming smartphone may have physical shoulder buttons for better gaming experience. This is the same that we have seen in Black Shark 4 series. The handset comes with retractable shoulder buttons, which can pop up and go back in, mush with the rest of the body as and when required.

As per the tipster, Redmi’s gaming smartphone could cost around CNY 2,000-2,500 (roughly 22,000 - 28,000 ), which might also make it the most affordable gaming smartphone in the industry.

However, Xiaomi Redmi has still no word on when this device will see the light of the day.
