Black Shark 4, 4 Pro gaming phones with retractable buttons, 120W fast charging launched

The shoulder buttons now pop up and retract in and out of the body as and when required.

Gaming phone brand, Black Shark, has finally launched its Black Shark 4 series in China. The lineup includes the Black Shark 4 and Black Shark 4 Pro. It also comes with some high-end specifications that one can expect from a gaming handset. 

Black Shark 4 starts at CNY 2,499 for the 6GB+128GB model, while the 8GB+128GB variant costs CNY 2,699. The 12GB+128GB model is priced at CNY 2,999. As for the ‘Pro' model, the 8GB+256GB and 12GB+256GB variants are priced at CNY 3,999 and CNY 4,499 respectively. The firm has not yet revealed if or when these two handsets will be coming to other countries. However, the global website is letting users sign up for the latest Black Shark 4 related news.

Coming to the specs, the Black Shark 4 Pro is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor, while the vanilla version is powered by Snapdragon 870. While the last year's versions came with shoulder buttons for situations when you are playing games while holding the smartphone in landscape mode, this year, these buttons are retractable.

This means that the shoulder buttons now pop up and retract in and out of the body. These retract using the two extra buttons placed right besides the retractable button area.

You get a 6.67-inch FHD+ E4 OLED screen with 144Hz refresh rate and 720Hz touch sampling rate. There's also a 4,500mAh battery with 120W charging in both Black Shark 4 smartphones.

At the back, you get a 64-megapixel primary camera along with an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens and 5-megapixel macro shooter. While this is for the ‘Pro' model, the vanilla version gets a 48-megapixel primary sensor instead. At the front, there is a 20-megapixel selfie camera. Some of the other features are Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, side-mounted fingerprint sensor, Wi-Fi 6 and JoyUI 12.5 based on MIUI 12.
