Sony last night unveiled the pricing of its PS5 gaming console. But that wasn't it. A few hours after, the Japanese tech firm launched a new flagship smartphone in the market – Xperia 5 II. The handset will be going on pre-orders for $950 starting September 29, which shipping starting from December 4. It is initially coming to the US and European markets in Black, Blue and Grey colour variants. Those who pre-order the smartphone before Nov 29 will also get a gaming bundle worth over $400. This will include a gaming headset, 10,000mAh power bank and 21,600 Call of Duty Mobile points.

As for the specifications, the Xperia 5 II has a 6.5-inch CinemaWide display with FHD+ (1080x2520 pixels) OLED panel. The key feature however, is the 120Hz refresh rate with 240Hz Motion blur reduction and Gorilla Glass 6 protection.

The dust and water resistant (IP68) smartphone has three rear cameras including a 12-megapixel sensor with f/1.7 aperture and 82-degree FoV, 12-megapixel telephoto sensor with f/2.4 aperture and 34-degree FoV, and 12-megapixel ultra-wide angle sensor with 124-degree FoV and f/2.2 aperture. These are complemented with Zeiss lenses and OIS. At the front, there is an 8-megapixel sensor with f/2.0 aperture.

Xperia 5 II supports LDAC, Hi-Res audio, 3.5mm headphone jack, front stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos and Qualcomm's aptX HD audio as well.

Powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor, the handset also includes 8GB RAM and 128GB inbuilt storage, which is expandable up to 1TB using a microSD card. The dual-SIM supporting device runs Android 10-based UI and has a 4,000mAh battery. The battery supports fast charging along with some in-house features like Xperia Adaptive Charging, Stamina Mode and more.
