The occurrence of a Black Moon is a very rare phenomenon which was not witnessed last year. Although the word ‘Black Moon’ is not an official term, it is used to refer to any of the phenomena associated with the New Moon as, during the New Moon phase, the Moon is always "black", according to space.com.
