An infographic released by location-based social network Foursquare paints a picture of where and how people in the US travel during the holiday season based on their same-day Foursquare check-ins.

Foursquare posted the image on blog, and tweeted "Planes, trains, and automobiles! An #infographic of how people get around the USA on foursquare. Safe travels everyone!"

American illustrator Carl Bender recently created a travel infographic for AFAR magazine. The infographic shows how and where people travel around the world and reveal that Germany, the United States and the United Kingdom have the highest rates of international departures.
