Get your wingman on Tinder: Group date with your Facebook friends
With Tinder Social, you can create a group by selecting your Facebook friends then match with other groups to chat with them. Groups that are matched can also keep monitoring each other’s status to find out their plans for the evening and more.
Tinder is testing a new feature in Australia that lets you create groups and match with other groups to go out with. The new group feature hasn't gone down well with a lot of users because while creating a group, you have to choose from a list of all your Facebook friends on Tinder, which means all of them can see that you're on Tinder.
"Any user who would prefer not to be added to groups can opt out of Tinder Social through his/her settings to no longer appear on their friends' lists. We are only testing it at this point, but it's important to note Tinder's not a secret considering 70% of users download Tinder because their friends recommend it," responded Tinder to the criticism of invading users' privacy.

A report argued that Tinder was being inconsiderate to the 30% if not more who aren't on the app because their friends recommended it and wish to keep their Tinder-life separate from the social one.
Tinder also argues that it isn't a group dating feature, but aims to make socialising easier. The dating app shared on a blog post that,"It's not group dating, it's a fun new way to meet new people out with your friends." While the new feature is still in testing phase, a global launch can be expected soon.

Tinder is selling the new features as, "a way to go places full of people you've already matched with, making socializing so much easier once you're out and about."
Because, according to Tinder, "Too often, your nights with friends consist of not knowing what to do, and figuring out where other interesting people you want to meet are going."
The company wants Tinder Social to be a way to break the ice and become acquaint with people you're going to spend an evening with. That intention makes it difficult to digest when paired with Tinder's statement implying that it isn't a group dating service.
