In terms of competition, Google's bot, Bard, does not currently offer a mobile app. On the other hand, Microsoft's Bing has been available on Android and iOS platforms since February.

ChatGPT, which was launched last year, caused a sensation in the field of AI. Its ability to perform tasks such as writing articles, creating presentations, composing poems, and even crafting film scripts made it immensely popular among users. However, in recent months, both its mobile and desktop traffic have experienced a decline.

According to internet data firm Similarweb, ChatGPT's mobile and desktop traffic decreased by 9.7 per cent in June. Sensor Tower also reported a drop in downloads for the bot's iPhone version.

The decrease in usage can be attributed to the limitations of the chatbot and some of the initial hype surrounding it, which led users to reevaluate its effectiveness. In fact, many users have complained that the bot has increasingly become dumber.

In this situation, the Android release will help AI to get back into the headlines and grab back the spotlight that it has lost to the likes of Microsoft and Google.
