    The festive season is just around the corner. In India, this means a time to spend with family and friends. And that is the message OnePlus wants to share with its latest ad campaign titled Stay Connected. Stay Smarter'. The ad features Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor and his wife Mira.

    The Stay Connected. Stay Smarter' ad campaign features the company's latest smart TV offering, the OnePlus TV U1S. The advertisement has an unconventional take, where Shahid and Mira are urging TV users to disconnect from their televisions and bond with their loved ones face to face without the digital distractions.

    “Through the ‘Stay Connected. Stay Smarter.' campaign, our intent is to further strengthen the relationship with our community and help them make mindful choices in life. And through campaign efforts like “Stay Connected. Stay Smarter.”, we hope to also help our community derive a better quality of life with their loved ones”, said Saurabh Kapoor, Director of Brand and Category Management, OnePlus India.

    The ad opens with Mira in her living room browsing through the features of her new OnePlus TV U1S. The new television connects to her OnePlus earphones as she uses her OnePlus smartphone as a remote for it. The home is decorated for the special occasion in all its finery.

    Shahid enters the room and tries to communicate with Mira, but she is so engrossed in the TV that she fails to notice what her husband is saying. Ultimately, Shahid points at the new OnePlus TV, subtly implying the need to disconnect. Mira is quick to take the message and using Google Voice Assistant, she switches off the TV. While the ad highlights the OnePlus connected ecosystem and how multiple devices can be wired to communicate with one another, it also sends out a different message – how we all need to disconnect from our devices, especially in the post-pandemic space, and enjoy the festivities with our loved ones. In short, bond as a family.

    Speaking about the campaign, Shahid Kapoor said, “We are living in a digital age where people across all age groups are quite invested in content consumption and might just miss out on celebrating milestone events with families. I firmly believe that the festive season is an apt occasion to remind people to switch off from their digital world and further strengthen their family bond by celebrating with their loved ones.”

    Mira Kapoor further added, “Celebrating special occasions with family is a significant aspect of our lives and should be an experience to cherish for life.”

    Conceptualised by Utsav Gokhani and created in partnership with Media Monks, the Stay Connected. Stay Smarter.' the ad film also simultaneously showcases the product's smart functions such as the Google Voice Assistant feature, IoT connectivity with other OnePlus products such as OnePlus Buds, OnePlus smartphones, and smart volume control feature among others. The ad film has been directed by Suraj Wanvari.
