Reliance Jio vs Airtel vs Vodafone vs Idea Cellular: 1.5GB per day data plans compared

Here’s a look at the top 1.5GB data per day data plans offered by Reliance Jio, Airtel, Vodafone and Idea Cellular.

Airtel, Vodafone and other telecom operators are showering discounts and additional data benefits to their customers in a bid to counter Reliance Jio. Already, Airtel and Vodafone have announced data plans matching Reliance Jio's monthly data plans. Jio is now heating up the competition with new 'sachets packs' for prepaid customers.

There are three sachet packs starting at ₹19 offering 0.15GB data and 20 free SMSes with 1 day validity. The second pack is priced at ₹52 and Jio users get 1.05GB of 4G data, 70 free SMSes with validity of 7 days. Under this pack, there's a daily usage cap of 0.15GB. Lastly, Jio's sachet pack priced at ₹98 offers 2.1GB of data along with 140 free SMSes. Here too there's a daily cap on data usage up to 0.15GB. As with every other Jio plan, these sachet packs come with unlimited voice calls and complimentary subscription to Jio's suite of apps.

Reliance Jio

Jio offers the most affordable plans in the market at present. At ₹198, Jio users get 42GB of 4G data with daily usage limit of 1.5GB. This plan also offers unlimited voice calls and SMSes (100 per day), and free subscription to Jio apps. This new plan was recently introduced under Jio's Happy New Year scheme where it increased the data benefits under all the plans.

Airtel

Airtel recently updated its prepaid plans offering not 1.5GB but 2GB of 3G/4G data per day. This plan is priced at ₹349, and its additional offers include unlimited local and STD calls, and national roaming as well.

Vodafone

Vodafone's plan comes at a higher price of ₹347 offering 1.5GB 2G/3G/4G data per day. In addition to this, Vodafone users get unlimited local and STD calls, and national roaming as well. 25 paisa per SMS is charged for both local and national.

Idea Cellular

Idea Cellular, on the other hand, does not have a prepaid plan offering 1.5GB 4G data per day. Instead, it offers 1GB 2G/3G data at ₹248 with unlimited local, STD and national roaming calls. Idea users can also avail additional 1GB data on this plan through recharge done via My Idea App or Idea's official website.
