Asus has upgraded the Asus Zenfone Max in India. The design stays the same, but specifications have received an overhaul. It is available two configurations -- 2GB RAM at 9,999 and 3GB RAM at 12,999.

The smartphone retains the non-removable 5,000 mAh battery, but promises to last longer than its earlier version on a single charge. It also has the ability to charge other devices via USB OTG. The company is promising over 900 hours of standby time, up to 37.5 hours of 3G talk time or up to 32.5 hours of browsing over WiFi on full charge.

It runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow on the 5.5-inch HD display. It's now powered by the Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 and Adreno 405 GPU. The previous configuration only had a Quad-core Snapdragon 410, clubbed with 2GB of RAM.

Instead of 16 GB internal storage, it now has room for 32 GB besides expansion by MicroSD.The smartphone has a decent 13 MP rear camera and a 5 MP one on the front.
