To find a solution to this challenge, OTT recommendation platform OTTPlay has launched its bundled subscription plans called OTTPlay Premium. Through this, users can watch a wide range of curated content across 12 Indian and international OTT platforms at a single price. The starting price for the subscription packs start at just Rs. 50. After its success, the platform announced its intention of foraying into content aggregation after launching OTTPlay Premium at an event in Mumbai.

OTTPlay Premium offers 5 subscription packs across 12 Indian and international OTT platforms

OTTPlay Premium brings together 12 video streaming platforms — 8 Indian and 4 international — together and turns them into 5 different language-based and thematic subscription bundles. The Indian platforms onboarded by OTTPlay include SonyLIV, ZEE5, Lionsgate Play, Sun NXT, ShemarooMe, Curiosity Stream, ShortsTV and DocuBay. It is also bringing 4 international OTT platforms under its umbrella for the first time ever in India. These include Hallmark Movies Now, DUST, FUSE+ and Tastemade+.

The five subscription bundles on offer include Jhakass (5 Hindi OTTs) Totally Sorted (8 English OTTs), Simbly South (4 OTTs focused on South Indian Languages), and Chota Pataka (Containing 5 assorted OTTs) starting at Rs. 50 per month. These subscription packs result in savings of anywhere between Rs. 3,000 to Rs. 12,500 per year when compared with the individual subscription fees.

“We specialize in curation, aggregation, recommendation and hence personalization. With the launch of subscriptions on the OTTplay app, we now have a better understanding of our viewers' preferences through not just their stated preferences but also their actual consumption patterns, and we are very excited to see the step-jump in the accuracy of our personalized OTT recommendations across platforms, genres and languages,” Avinash Mudaliar, founder, OTTPlay said at the launch event.
