AirPods 3, Apple Music HiFi to launch on May 18
Apple will reportedly make two announcements on May 18. This will be a press release announcement for the launch of AirPods 3, and the newly rumoured Apple Music HiFi streaming. This leak comes from YouTuber Luke Miani who shared it with the AppleTrack website. Like with every other Apple event, there’s no confirmation on this.
The press release announcement of AirPods 3 could include the debut of Apple Music HiFi, according to the leak. Apple did announce the AirPods Pro via a press release so the same could happen for the AirPods 3 as well. But rumours around the AirPods 3 suggest Apple won’t be launching it anytime soon. Apple was expected to launch the AirPods 3 this spring but notable sources refuted it. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said the AirPods 3 will not enter mass production until the third quarter of this year. This suggests that they won't be launching in the next couple of months and may arrive alongside the new iPhones.
Based on leaks so far, Apple AirPods 3 is expected to come with a shorter stem than the AirPods 2 and look quite similar to the AirPods Pro. AirPods 3 are also rumoured to feature Spatial Audio that we’ve experienced on the AirPods Max and the AirPods Pro but might skip on noise cancellation. The AirPods 3 is being pegged to cost $150 ( ₹10,876 approx).
As for the Apple Music HiFi streaming, hints of this was discovered in the iOS 14.6 developer beta. Apple could soon bring HiFi support to Apple Music app, and the idea behind this is said to be that the firm could bring high-fidelity audio streaming to Apple Music subscribers and owners of compatible devices, such as select AirPods.
