Apple is already benefiting from the decision of removing Earpods from iPhone 12 retail boxes, here's how

Usually the sales of TWS products peak in Q3 of every year before going down in Q4. However, this year might be different as the sales momentum is expected to stay in Q4 2020 as well.

When Apple announced that it is reducing the number of components from its iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro retail boxes, many fans didn't take it well. Even some rival Android smartphone brands also mocked the company for giving just a type-C to lightning cable and the phone inside the box. However, this move is turning out to be a good one for Apple as it is boosting the sales of its wireless audio products. 

According to a report by Digitimes, Apple's Beats Flex, the neckband that launched on the same day as iPhone 12 in the US, is getting a good response as it is acting as a substitute for the missing Earpods.

The sales of Beats Flex neckband, which costs $49.99, is expected to go strong till the first half of next year. The report adds that AirPods will also continue to do well in the TWS market. It is worth adding that AirPods took around 35% of the True Wireless Earphones market in Q2 of 2020 as per research firm Counterpoint.

Citing supply sources, the report suggests that other vendors may also stop bundling earphones inside the smartphone box in future, which may result in the rise of TWS market. Research firm Canalys has already made a forecast that TWS market will grow by 29% in 2020.

Apple has been focussing on lot on going wireless with its iPhones. It has already made a base with AirPods, Apple Pay and wirelessly connected other home products. And with iPhone 12 it also made a mark in the wireless charging segment. All of this only indicates that Apple has already made a ground for a completely portless iPhone.
